Hospice Christmas Hamper

Here are the details with respect to the above as set out by Gillian:

Mountbatten are seeking help this Christmas with their Love not loneliness campaign. Due to Covid restrictions many people living on the Isle of Wight who have a long term illness or who are bereaved are isolated and Mountbatten want to show them through this campaign that they are loved and are truly cared about.  A link to their website can be accessed by clicking here.

How can I help?  Gillian has spoken to the fundraising team organising the event and they would really welcome help towards the gift hampers. There is not much time as all gifts must be received to Mountbatten by 3rd Dec at very latest in order for the hampers to be made up and begin to be distributed.

Below are some ideas of items:-

Cake, biscuits or mince pies, Christmas chutney or jams etc must be shop bought so that the person receiving the gift knows exactly what’s in it in case of any allergies
 or food intolerances.

Any type of toiletries gift soap/ talcs, shower gels body sprays etc male/female
Box Gift sets
Mugs
Jigsaw
Puzzles or puzzle books
Small Soft toys
Any other gift item that would be suitable for adults of wide range

No sharp items please
No plants as they may not last

Due to Covid restrictions only Mountbatten staff or trained volunteers can be involved with the distribution.  I have volunteered my time for those living in the Sandown area.

If anyone wants to help they can contact Gillian by email by clicking here. The hospice has cards which they will pass to Gillian to give to anyone donating so they can complete and send Christmas greetings to the person.  Gillian will arrange for any contribution you may have to be collected from you rather than you having to go to the hospice itself.

It is a great opportunity for our church to spread a little love to those in our community this Christmas.
