Memory Verses

Each week in 2021 a new memory verse was selected by a member of the congregation.  The verses chosen are shown below so that you can remember them all!  If you would prefer to remember them all in your favourite version of the bible then that is fine.  The one they were initially chosen from is shown alongside the scripture reference.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.”  (Philippians 4:6,7a NLT)

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6 NIV)

“For God loved the world so much that he gave. his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. “(John 3:16 NLT)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NIV)

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:13,14 NIV)

”For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles." (Isaiah 40:31 NLT).  You may like to remember the rest of the verse too which continues "They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint.”

“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” Psalm 29:11 (NIV)

"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11 NIV)

"This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NLT)

"I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.  He freed me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4 NLT)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5,6 NIV)

"This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19 NIV)

Love is patient and kind and envies no one.  Love is never boastful nor conceited or rude; never selfish, not quick to take offence.  In a word, there are three things that last forever:  faith, hope and love but the greatest of them all is love. (a paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 13:4,5 and 13)

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ And immediately the leprosy left him. (Luke 5:13 NIV)

‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. (John 15:1,2 NIV)

“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one” (John 17:15 NIV)

“When the counsellor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me” (John 15:26 NIV)

"In reply Jesus declared 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (John 3:3 NIV)

“We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV).

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new has here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17NIV).

"We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited."
(2 Corinthians 6:3NIV)
